Ron Perlman on Pacific Rim: “The Scope of the Film is Gigantic”

In an event for the season 5 premiere of “Sons of Anarchy”, Movieweb.com caught up with Guillermo del Toro film veteran Ron Perlman who shares a little about his role in Pacific Rim and about the movie itself.

Perlman, playing a character named Hannibal Chow in the upcoming sci-fi flick, has a small part as he “only shot 2 weeks worth of work out of a 7 month shoot”, the actor says.

Regarding the size of the film, which is one of the things Pacific Rim cast and crew are quick to highlight in interviews, Perlman said that “the scope of the film (is) gigantic”. And comparing del Toro’s latest to an already established and ultra successful giant robot franchise, Perlman went on to remark that “it makes Transformers look like a Merchant Ivory movie.”
